Small Bathroom. Big Impact. Five Ways To Elevate A Tiny Space.
Small bathrooms get a bad reputation. But some of the most memorable spaces are the compact ones. When you have less room every detail matters more. That is actually a good thing.
Start with materials. In a small space you see and touch everything up close. This is where quality shows. Swap plastic accessories for ceramic or stone. Choose a wood vanity with real grain. These textures make the room feel considered rather than cramped.
Lighting is everything. Ditch the single overhead light if you can. A pair of sconces on either side of the mirror creates softer more flattering light. Add a dimmer if possible. Bathroom lighting should shift with the time of day.
Mirrors work magic. Go bigger than you think you need. A larger mirror reflects light and tricks the eye into seeing more space. Lean toward simple frames or frameless edges to keep things clean.
Think vertical. When floor space is tight look up. Floating shelves. Tall slim storage. Hooks instead of towel bars. Use the walls and free up the floor.
Finally edit ruthlessly. The fewer things on the counter the bigger the room feels. Keep only what you use daily. Everything else finds a home behind a cabinet door.
Small does not mean settling. It means being intentional with every choice. And that usually leads to better design anyway.
